This traditional copal "negro" (a.k.a. 'dark incense'), is harvested from the forests of Oaxaca by the indigenous Zapotec people. It is taken and sold sustainably, respectfully, and with the permission of tribal leaders.
 
The resin isgrey and white, hard in places, and gives mustier notes of green and lemonine when burned.
